An oil painting on canvas by Béla de Kristo, signed at the lower right. Measuring approximately 27 x 23 1/2 in., the work reflects the artist’s Cubist-inspired style, characterized by geometric fragmentation, bold contrasts, and a dynamic interplay of color and form. Béla de Kristo (1920–2006) was a Hungarian-born French painter who became known for his Cubist and abstract compositions. After settling in France, he developed a body of work that drew on the legacy of Picasso and Braque, yet with a distinct emphasis on color and rhythmic structure. His paintings often explored the tension between figuration and abstraction, with a strong architectural quality in their design.
