Artist Bio
Salvador Dalí (1904–1989) was one of the most prominent figures of Surrealism, renowned for his technical mastery, vivid imagination, and flamboyant persona. His work traversed painting, sculpture, film, literature, and printmaking, often blending dream imagery with meticulous realism. In the late 1960s, Dalí produced a series of illustrations for Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland, a project that combined two of the most inventive minds in art and literature. The resulting works, including The Lobster’s Quadrille, remain sought after for their inventive fusion of surrealist fantasy and literary heritage.
