Coral and Diamond Cocktail Ring
Paris, circa 1970Of striking sculptural form, this vibrant cocktail ring by Cartier captures the exuberance of 1970s design through its bold interplay of color and material. Meticulously crafted in 18-karat yellow gold, the ring centers upon a shield-shaped cabochon of natural Sardinian red coral, bezel-set and glowing with organic warmth. Surrounding the coral, fifty-two round brilliant-cut diamonds are pavé-set, their icy brilliance—approximately 2.60 carats in total, E–F color, VVS1 clarity—enhancing the coral’s vivid hue with refined contrast.
