Maker Bio
Tiffany & Co., founded in New York in 1837, quickly established itself as America’s premier luxury silversmith and jeweler. Under the directorship of Charles L. Tiffany (1892–1902), the firm’s silver designs flourished, with Chrysanthemum, introduced in 1880, becoming its most celebrated pattern. Combining the exuberance of the American Aesthetic and Rococo Revival styles, the design required immense skill in repoussé and chasing, making it among the most opulent and technically sophisticated silver services of its era. Today, Chrysanthemum remains one of the most highly prized Tiffany silver patterns, sought after by collectors worldwide.
