Finely Woven and Beautifully Decorative Antique Persian Khorassan Rug, Country Of Origin; Persia, Circa Date: 1900 — This absolutely breath-taking antique rug — a magnificent antique Khorassan Persian rug, produced in what is now modern day Iran — is a paragon of the aesthetics of classic Persian rug design. A classic Persian arabesque medallion composition graces the field of this refined and subtle antique Persian Khorassan rug. Within the main outlines of the design, a delicate, lace-like mesh of tiny flowers spreads across the surface, more noticeable against the dark blue ground at the center around the medallion. The borders continue the fine scale and creamy coloration of the field, again utilizing blue tones only for sparing accent as outlines.Unified and beautiful to behold, this masterpiece of design and construction is a testament to the enduring beauty and astonishing aesthetic prowess of the individuals responsible for its creation.
