• Lot Description
  19TH CENTURY-Pair of carved wood stands, each with squared top over a frieze carved in relief with squared scrolls, inset with carved mutton fat jade masks, the lower part carved in relief with phoenix heads centered by applied carved jade discs with double happiness character, on squared legs headed by openwork scrolls, ending in scroll feet joined by stretchers. 33.75 in.h. x 15.25 in. x 15.25 in. Condition; the patina is uneven and rubbed out in areas, both stands have a small loss to an apron/pictures added-please review detailed images and call for a verbal condition report. Provenance: from the personal collection of Virginia Dulany Hyman, proprietress of Dulany's Gallery, Birmingham, MI. Virginia Dulany Hyman, a native of Dallas, TX moved to the Detroit area in the early 1960s. Her love of antiques and traveling led her to a lifelong passion of collecting and she ran Dulany's Gallery of Birmingham for many years, focusing on Asian art. She and her late husband were among the first westerners to visit China in the mid-70s, and their antique buying trips took them all over the world.

  • It is the buyer's responsibility to arrange for and pay for shipping. On the 30th calendar day following the auction, all lots that have not been removed from Neue Auctions, LLC will be moved to an off-site storage facility and incur storage fees of $10.00 per lot per day until removed.

    Invoices are emailed when the auction is complete are required to be paid within five days. We accept bank wire transfers, cash, personal or company checks, and all major credit cards. Payments are accepted through the bidding platform for a 2.8% processing fee assumed by the buyer. If paying by check, Neue Auctions, LLC reserves the right to hold all purchases until the check has cleared to the satisfaction of Neue Auctions, LLC and its bank. Neue Auctions at our discretion, reserves the right to deny credit card purchases by phone. Any credit card payment by phone is subject to a 5% processing fee assumed by the buyer at the discretion of the gallery. We reserve the right to decline payment by credit card for any reason and may request wire payment or check. Payment is required within five days of the auction end date or if a check is mailed, the gallery must be notified. Bidder dispute will be opened if payment is not received within our terms. If paying by check, Neue Auctions, LLC reserves the right to hold all purchases until the check has cleared to the satisfaction of Neue Auctions, LLC and its bank.
