A finely carved 19th century alabaster bust depicting a young woman wearing a softly draped bonnet and period attire, rendered with delicate facial features and smooth, luminous surface characteristic of the material. The figure is mounted on an integral shaped alabaster base, with a removable or separately carved plinth underside visible, showing tool marks consistent with hand finishing. The sculpture exhibits a warm, creamy tone with natural veining throughout, enhancing its visual depth and authenticity. Notable condition issues include scattered surface wear, minor chips, and losses along the edges of the base and drapery, as well as visible repairs or filler to the underside. Despite these imperfections, the piece retains strong decorative appeal and a refined presence, making it an attractive example of 19th century decorative sculpture suitable for display in both traditional and eclectic interiors.
