- Lot Description
This antique figural sculpture depicts a medieval warrior in chainmail armor, standing in a poised and contemplative stance while holding a battle axe. The figure is richly detailed, from the textured chainmail and helmet to the shield strapped across his back and the draped garments falling naturally at his sides. Cast in what appears to be spelter with a warm bronze-toned finish, the piece rests on an ornate circular base featuring classical decorative motifs. The sculpture shows age-appropriate wear, including surface patina and some loss to the finish, consistent with its vintage character. The underside reveals casting openings and wear typical of spelter construction. A striking decorative object, this piece would make an excellent addition to any collection of antique militaria, European decorative arts, or period-style interior décor. Approx. dimensions (in): 19.25 x 7 x 7.
