Impressive handmade model of the sternwheel steamboat Chaperon, featuring a long painted wooden hull, multi-level cabin structure, rear paddle wheel, twin black smokestacks, rigging, railings, masts, and numerous American flags throughout. The model is highly decorative and detailed, with painted red doors and trim, gold-tone railings, deck fittings, lifeboat, anchor emblems, and applied string lights wrapped along the decks and rigging. It has a strong folk art presence with visible hand construction and charming age-related wear, including paint loss, dust, small chips, loose or uneven rigging, and scattered imperfections consistent with display and handling. A visually striking riverboat model that would make an excellent display piece for a nautical, Americana, folk art, or steamboat collection. Approx. dimensions (in): 14 x 39.75 x 7.
