- Lot Description
Elegant French Art Nouveau figural bronze lamp titled Baigneuse by J. Cambos, signed on the base. The sculpture portrays a young woman in a softly draped garment, captured in a graceful, downward-leaning pose with fine attention to form and movement. The figure stands atop a naturalistic base, also bearing a plaque reading “Baigneuse par Cambos – Médaille d’Or Beaux-Arts.” The lamp features three curving, branch-like arms decorated with metal leaves, supporting frosted glass shades shaped like blossoms, a classic Art Nouveau design element. The bronze has a warm, even patina with good surface detail, and the piece retains its sculptural quality from all angles. A beautiful combination of art and function, ideal as a statement decorative lighting piece or for collectors of French Art Nouveau bronzes. Approx. dimensions (in): 37.75 x 21 x 9.25.
