This antique figural sculpture is executed after the celebrated French sculptor Adrien Etienne Gaudez, depicting the iconic subject "Lulli," a youthful violinist captured mid-performance in a lively, expressive stance. Cast in bronzed white metal, the figure displays finely modeled facial features, animated posture, and carefully detailed costume, violin, and bow, all set atop a stepped, polychrome-painted base with an applied metal nameplate inscribed "LULLI." The composition reflects the strong influence of late 19th-century French academic and decorative sculpture, with an emphasis on movement and narrative charm, characteristic of Gaudez's widely reproduced works. The surface exhibits attractive aged patina, gilt wear, and minor imperfections consistent with age and material, enhancing its authentic antique character. A striking and decorative example of French-inspired figural sculpture after a renowned master, well suited for display in a traditional or eclectic interior.
