- Lot Description
Limited edition abstract print titled "Homage to the Crucifix of Cimabue" by Italian modernist artist Giuseppe Santomaso (1907-1990). The composition features Santomaso's characteristic abstract geometric forms with a textured field and bold linear accents, rendered in muted tones with striking red lines and a slate blue upper field. The work is hand signed by the artist at lower right and numbered 37/50 at lower left. An inventory label on the reverse from General Telephone & Electronics identifies the work and title, suggesting corporate collection provenance. Presented in a frame with mat, the sheet shows a deckled lower edge. A scarce limited-edition example from Santomaso, an important member of the post-war Italian abstraction movement and the Gruppo degli Otto. Approx. frame size (in): 34 x 28.25 x 1.5, Approx. painting size (in): 25 x 19.25.
