For your consideration in this lot we have a ancient Mayan stone snake plate artifact originating from around 250 - 900 AD. The Mayan civilization developed a culture with advancements in art, architecture, mathematics and agriculture. The piece shows the carved image of a curled snake with patterns around the border and what appears to be a bird. The plate shows a circular structure with three peaks to each of the sides. The piece shows smooth divots around the outside of the piece. The plate is in good condition overall. The artifact measures 8 1/2" tall by 9 3/4" wide.
