GEORGE IVINS Son
Of Aaron Ivins } was born the 10th day
& Miriam his wife } of October 1794
Happy the Child whose youngest Years, Received Instruction well
Who hates the Sinners path and fears, The road that leads to Hell.
When we devote our youth to God, ‘Tis pleasing in his Eyes
A flower, when offer’d in the bud, Is no vain Sacrifice
To thee Almighty God to thee, My Childhood I resign
‘Twill please me to look back and see, That my whole life was thine
Let the sweet work of Prayer and praise, Employ my youngest breath
Thus I’, prepar’d for longer days, Or fit for Early death. So be it
