- Lot Description
Davenport Floral and Gilt Decorated Dessert Set
English, E 19th C. Most numbered #193. Comprising: a reticulated and footed tazza, four oval reticulated serving plates, 10"l, one square double reticulated plate, 10.5"squ., two oval double reticulated serving plates, eleven dessert plates, 9 1/4"dia., one with repair. Repairs. Nineteen items. Provenance: Diana Huntley Antiques, Islington, London.

All with light wear; wear to gilding consistent with age and use.
Tazza: No cracks or repairs.
Rectangular tray: No chips, cracks, or repairs.
Round plates: One with repair to rim (cracked and reglued). Another with chip to foot; one with hairline to underside of rim but doesn’t show through on the face. Another with rim chip and heavier wear on the face. The next with some exfoliation of paint on the face and some discoloration on the backside. Another shattered and poorly repaired. All others are in condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs.
Single side pierced dishes: One with two small hairline cracks. Another with hairlines visible on the backside but not on the face.
Double-pierced handle dishes: Chips to one handle. The other with no visible chips, cracks, or repairs.
