CA. 400 BC Rare example of Late Classical helmet of Chalcidian type; Formed of heavy sheet, the crown with a raised median ridge that terminates at the back in a pronounced carinated edge, an arching ridge above the neck-guard; long plume holder on top; the cheek-pieces hinged below with punched decorations; magnificent wings above. Good condition / some repair and restoration. Size: 420mm (with wings and cheek-guards); wings lenght 230mm; cheek guards - 115mm; body 206x260mm; 750 grams.
