Illustrated. 124 pp. Publisher's full gray cloth, front board and spine stamped in black, publisher's price-clipped dust jacket. FIRST EDITION, PRESENTATION COPY, INSCRIBED BY BREWER ON THE TITLE-PAGE: "10-20-58 Especially inscribed for George Cleveland James [?], whose friendship and help through the years have been stimulating and pleasant factors in my life, Sincerely, J. Mason Brewer".
Condition
Cloth a bit toned and rubbed, endleaves a bit sunned; jacket spine toned and somewhat edgeworn, light rubbing, toning, soiling to jacket. Very good.

Laid-in is the publisher's compliments card. An excellent collection of folk tales by one of the premier African-American folklorists.
