[AFRICAN AMERICANA]. BREWER, J. Mason (1896-1975). Echoes of Thought. [N.p.]: John Mason Brewer, 1922. 16mo. Portrait of Brewer inserted before the Table of Contents. 54 pp. Publisher's mottled brown wrappers, front board lettered in gilt. FIRST EDITION OF THE AUTHOR'S FIRST BOOK, A COLLECTION OF POETRY. This title is exceedingly scarce.
Condition
Wrappers toned, worn, creased, soiled with marginal tears, rear hinge cracked, text toned and occasionally foxed. Still, a very good copy of this scarce and fragile item.
- Provenance
This title, a collection of poetry, is a departure from the titles written or edited by Brewer, a noted folklorist of African-Americana.
