New York: Pantheon Books, [1965]. 8vo. 244 pp. Publisher's black cloth backstrip over red boards, front board stamped in black, spine stamped in gilt, publisher's unclipped ("$4.95") dust jacket. FIRST EDITION OF THE AUTHOR'S SECOND BOOK.
Condition
Minor rubbing to cloth; jacket lightly toned, soiled, rubbed, one pen mark strike through jacket price, light sticker residue beneath price on front jacket flap. Fine.

This autobiographical novel is about a World War II African-American veteran in Rome (Demby worked for Federico Fellini in Rome after the war).
