- Lot Description
[AVIATION]. [COLD WAR]. Pair of Printed Silk ?Bail-Out" Double-Sided Maps of Eastern Europe. [N.p.], 1952-53. Silk maps, one map for Ankara/Sinop (6th edition), the other map for Bucharest/Lublin (3rd edition). Both approximately 24 x 25". Both folded. Minor occasional marginal fraying, else fine. Highly detailed maps for military or espionage pilots who were forced to bail out over hostile territory in Eastern Europe. These maps could be used for these pilots to make their way to safety. Uncommon in this condition.
