BYRD, Richard E. (1888-1957). Alone. New York: G. P. Putnam's Sons, 1938. 8vo. 296 pp. Publisher's full blue cloth, front board and spine stamped in blue, publisher's unclipped (?$2.50") dust jacket (cloth spine sunned at edges, some rubbing to cloth, a few pencil markings in text; jacket spine sunned and chipped, jacket with several tears, chips, soiling). A very good copy in a fair jacket. SECOND IMPRESSION, SIGNED BY BYRD ON THE FFEP. The harrowing account of Byrd's solitary 5 month stay at the Advance Base that he established south of Little America.
