LeRoy, Servais (Jean Henri Servais LeRoy). Cabinet Card Photograph of the Servais LeRoy Co. [London]: A. Mason, ca. 1912. Image shows the storeroom of LeRoy?s famous London magic shop and illusion factory, packed with bizarre tricks and trappings of the trade: mannequins in various states of undress and completion, animal cages, and numbered packing crates (perhaps for LeRoy?s own show). On an embossed and printed photographer?s mount. 10 x 8?. Corners chipped. An unusual behind-the-scenes look at this short-lived London magic emporium, where LeRoy and his company constructed theatrical effects, props, and illusions for other magicians, as well as a multitude of stage productions in England, America, and on the European continent.
