[CIRCUS]. PANVINO, Onofrio (1529-1568). De ludis circensibus, Libri II. De triumphis, Liber unus ("On the circus games"). Early edition. 8vo. 357+33pp. Plain vellum. A reprint of 1560s study on Roman circuses by Onofrio Panvinio, an Augustinian monk and Corrector and Reviser of the books of the Vatican Library. Includes as an appendix his work on triumphal Roman processions.
Condition
Light rubbing and soiling. Few small tears in vellum at spine. Bent corners. Chipped title card. Ownership markings. Overdyed edges at margins. Joint separating at rear. Good.
