Illustrated throughout. 587, [1, blank], [4, ads], [2, blank] pp. Publisher's full green cloth, front board stamped in black and gilt, spine stamped in gilt, rear board stamped in blind, yellow endleaves (binding rubbed, some scuffing (mainly to front board), endleaves foxed, text a bit toned, a few gutters overopened, occasional soiling to edge of text block, previous owner's bookplate and signature on front endleaves). Still, near fine. FIRST EDITION OF THIS CLASSIC MILITARY BIOGRAPHY. From the renowned personal collection of Dr. George D. Lacy. Measurements: 9 x 6 x 2".
