Profusely illustrated with plates and maps. 690, [4, blank] pp. Publisher's special binding of half brown morocco over olive-green cloth, front board and spine stamped in gilt (spine a bit sunned and worn, light edgewear to boards). Bright and fine. Laid-in is the publisher's slip advertising the signed limited edition. FIRST EDITION IN THE PUBLISHER'S HALF MOROCCO BINDING. ?A combination of reminiscences and rebuttals by a gallant soldier ostracized by his comrades in the Reconstruction period; a necessary source for any study of Lee's army?"
