Profusely illustrated. 148, [4, blank] pp. Publisher's full gray cloth, front board and spine stamped in red, floral endleaves (spine toned, worn, and soiled, boards worn, soiled, hinges cracking, endleaves toned and edgeworn, text with occasional toning, soiling). Good. FIRST ENLARGED EDITION. "Biographical sketches of 458 Confederate Veterans; these provide an interesting key to postwar occupations of a sample group" (Nevins). From the renowned personal collection of Dr. George D. Lacy.
