[General title:] Index of General Orders, Third Military District, Department of Georgia, Florida and Alabama. Atlanta, GA: Assistant Adjutant General's Office, 1868. 8vo. Numerous orders, indicies collected in this volume. Bound in modern full black calf, spine ruled, tooled in gilt in compartments, five raised bands, burgundy gilt morocco lettering label, marbled endleaves (text toned, soiled in places, some pages clean and bright, institution inkstamp on title-page). Fine. FIRST EDITION THUS. Signed "W. Meade" on the final text leaf, possibly a signature of William Meade (1855-1891), one of General Meade's 7 children. If this is, in fact, a signature of William Meade, it is quite rare. And: OWEN, William Miller. In Camp and Battle with the Washington Artillery of New Orleans. A Narrative of Events During the Late Civil War from Bull Run to Appomattox and Spanish Fort. Boston, MA: Ticknor and Company, 1885. 8vo. Illustrated with maps and engravings. 467 pp. Bound in modern half black calf over marbled boards, spine ruled and lettered in gilt in compartments, five raised bands, marbled endleaves, original front cover cloth bound-in at rear (text toned, occasionally foxed, thumbsoiled, light soiling to bound-in cloth, embossed stamp of the "Union League of Philadelphia" on the title-page).
