Hartford, CT: Case, Lockwood & Co., 1867. 8vo. 353, [9, blank] pp. Publisher's full brown cloth, boards ruled in blind, spine stamped in gilt, yellow endleaves (rebacked preserving most of the original spine, spine a bit sunned, worn, boards rubbed, lightly soiled, corners bumped, hinges just starting, text a bit toned and edgeworn bookplate of The Commandery of the State of Illinois on the fp.) Very good. FIRST EDITION, WITH A LENGTHY INSCRIPTION BY THE AUTHOR ON THE FFEP.: ?'Dulce est desipere in loco.' Horace ?Oh, that mine enemy would write a book!' Job.
