Illustrated. 357, [3, ads], [2, blank] pp. Publisher's full blue cloth over beveled boards, boards stamped in blind, front board and spine stamped in gilt (binding worn, soiled, binding overall toned to green, hinges starting, text toned, soiled with occasional chips, pencil notes, tears, small piece of tape on ffep., front blank (both sides) and recto of frontispiece with a lengthy penciled criticism of this book signed by ?J. Webster Jones [?]" Fair. FIRST EDITION OF THIS UNCOMMON BOOK. This book is signed on the ffep. by John E. Howard (1828-1911; dated ?April 13th 1869"), Captain in the First Maryland Infantry, C. S. A. From the renowned personal collection of Dr. George D. Lacy. Measurements: 8 x 6 x 1".
