CLARKE, Arthur C. (1917-2008). 2010: Odyssey Two; Group of 4 Proof Copies, Two of Which Are Signed. [New York and London: Ballantine and Granada, 1982]. 8vos. Publisher's wrappers (some light sunning, rubbing, minor soiling). Fine. Included are: the unedited manuscript proof by Ballantine, two proofs by Ballantine (one in yellow, one in blue - blue copy is signed), UK proof copy by Granada (signed). This title was the basis of the film sequel of 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968), titled 2010: The Year We Make Contact (1984) directed by Peter Hyams and starring Roy Scheider, John Lithgow, Helen Mirren, and Keir Dullea reprising his role as David Bowman. From the renowned personal collection of Dr. George D. Lacy.
