[COLOR-PLATE BOOKS]. "Kupfer Zur Winschs Unterballungen Uber der Menschen" (from label on front of book). [Germany: n.d., ca. 18th century]. Oblong small folio. Illustrated with 14 hand-colored copperplates of various indigenous peoples from around the world, including a double-hemisphere plate showing where these people live. Bound with 14 hand-colored (unassociated with the first work) anatomical plates on 13 leaves. Some plates folding. Most plates with protective paper blank leaves. Bound in contemporary marbled boards, brown morocco lettering label on front board. UNKNOWN EDITIONS OF THESE UNIDENTIFIED WORKS, WITH HANDSOME ILLUSTRATIONS.
Condition
Binding heavily worn, soiled, scuffed, spine nearly perished, hinges cracking, plates toned, foxed, creased, blank leaves worn, chipped and creased. Color on plates is vibrant, despite the general condition of these works. Fair.
