Cutting a Lady in Half Working Model Arcade Machine. London: Samson Novelty [?], 1940s. Drop an old English penny in the slot and look through the front window to see a woman disappear from a cage, reappear in an open fronted box. The magician then slices through her prone body repeatedly; but at the conclusion, the woman reappears in the cage entirely unharmed. Hand painted panels on the sides and front panels, hardwood cabinet, and maker's plate to front. 23 x 21 x 69". Operates on 220 current. A RARE English WWII-era machine that utilizes Pepper's Ghost to create an eerie, magical effect. Third party transportation required.
