Original gilt-lettered maroon cloth (light rubbing at extreme ends and fore-corners, contemporary ownership inscription on front free endpaper).FIRST AMERICAN EDITION, a mixed state with the copyright notice reading ?Published March, 1902, R? and the title-page inserted on a stub as seen in the third state but the title does not contain the word ?Illustrated?.
