DOYLE, Arthur Conan (1859-1930). ?The Lost World,? complete serialized run in The Sunday Magazine of the Detroit News Tribune, and 3 previous issues announcing this serial. Detroit: Sunday Magazine of The Detroit News Tribune, 3 March 1912 - 21 July 1912.22 weekly issues, 4tos. Illustrated by various artists (The Lost World is beautifully illustrated by Joseph Clement Coll). All in original printed wrappers (toned, some wear, stitched spines have had stitches removed - several with later stitch-holes at spine). The May 19, 1912 issue is from the Sunday Magazine of The New-York Magazine, but the rest are from The Detroit News Tribune. There are two copies of the March 24, 1912, issue (the first installment) with Professor Challenger on the cover. The March 3, 10, and 17 issues have announcements for Doyle?s next serial (only the March 17th issue mentions The Lost World by name). In addition, included are an extra 5 sets of excised pages from various issues in this run, not part of the 22 issues mentioned above.
