Full contemporary limp morocco gilt, printed spine labels (extremities rubbed, extreme ends slightly scorched, salesman samples of alternate leather binding options mostly removed front endpapers).RARE SALESMAN?S DUMMY for the ?Author?s Edition?, Whitehall issue (one of 1000 copies) of The Works of Arthur Conan Doyle. Contains an advertisement for another edition (later penned notations, small dampstain at foot), the Preface, Contents, the limitation, several title-pages, plates, and a few examples of text.
