Engraved vignette on title-page, 3 coats of arms on verso of title-page, decorated initials and full-page engraving on verso of privilege leaf at end. [42] pp. Contemporary full calf, gilt spine.
Condition
Binding darkened at spine and board-edges, label missing on spine, joints and hinges cracking, binding worn, soiled, title-page chipped and wrinkled from dampstain, text toned, occasionally foxed. Good. THE RARE FIRST EDITION OF THIS EARLY PRINTED WORK ON HERALDRY OF FRANCE, SCOTLAND AND LORRAINE. With near contemporary (1626) signature of English politician Arthur Throckmorton (1557-1626) on the title-page, and with initials (possibly Throckmorton).
