London: Saunders and Otley, 1838. 8vo. 310, [4, ads] pp. Half-title present. Finely bound by Rivière and Son in nineteenth-century full green levant morocco, spine lettered in gilt in compartments, five raised bands, gilt board edges and turn-ins, later endleaves. FIRST ENGLISH TRADE EDITION OF THIS INFLUENTIAL TRANSCENDENTALIST TITLE IN A HANDSOME BINDING.
Condition
Spine and board edges sunned to brown, minor rubbing to binding, some light foxing, soiling to endleaves and text, final leaf of ads trimmed at bottom with some loss of text. Still, fine.
