FINNEY, Jack (1911-1995). The Body Snatchers. New York: Dell Publishing Company, [1955]. FIRST DELL EDITION, INSCRIBED BY FINNEY ON THE TITLE-PAGE: ?Albert Newgarden best wishes-Jack Finney?. This classic science fiction novel about a secret invasion of alien parasites has been filmed several times, including the 1956 version, Invasion of the Body Snatchers directed by Don Siegel and starring Kevin McCarthy, the 1978 version directed by Philip Kaufman starring Donald Sutherland, the 1993 version (Body Snatchers) directed by Abel Ferrara starring Forest Whitaker, and the 2007 version (The Invasion) directed by Oliver Hirschbiegel starring Nicole Kidman and Daniel Craig.
