FINSTER, Michael (American, b. 1969). ?The Collection?. Circa 1995. A group of 6 copies of this limited-edition lithograph on thick paper, each being one of 700 copies (#s 21, 61, 63, 81, 82, 83), all signed by Finster on the lower right corner. 24 x 18 ??. Some occasional creasing, thumbsoiling. Overall, a good group. Michael Finster is the grandson of legendary Outsider Artist, Howard Finster (1916-2001). In his teens, Michael dropped out of high school to help his grandfather with his work and to learn from him. His aesthetic is not unlike his grandfather?s, but Michael has staked out his own unique place in Outsider Art, by combining religious themes with his sense of humor, as well as his interest in fantastic creatures (such as dragons, etc.).
