- Lot Description
GRANT, Ulysses S. (1822-1885). Document Signed as President. Washington, D.C., March 11, 1875. Postmaster appointment document signed by Grant and countersigned by the Postmaster General Marshall Jewell, appointing Hiram Mascall [?] postmaster for Genesee county, New York. With the official red seal at lower left. Sight approximately 13 x 15 ??. Matted and framed (glass is missing) with brass stars and medallion decorating the mat. Frame size approximately 22 x 23 ??. 1 vertical and 3 horizontal creases visible, 9 tape ghosts visible at margins, some faint offsetting to document from when this document was folded. Very good.
