HELLER, Robert (William Henry Palmer, 1826 - 78). Heller's Wonders Lithographed Handbill. West Hampton: W. Moseley, ca. 1868. Elaborate pictorial handbill features a devilish figure directing spectator's "To Heller's" with vignettes featuring his Second Sight mystery, skeletons, imps, and an automaton peacock, among other images. 6 1/2 x 4 3/4", mounted in a double-mat frame with photo corners (easily removed). RARE; the first we have offered for sale.
This elaborately printed advertisement, which includes a gilded background, may have been issued to promote Heller's appearance at the London Polytechnic or other British appearances, as he is billed as "The Famous American Magician, Conjuror, and Pianist."
