HEMINGWAY, Ernest (1899-1961). Autograph Letter Signed and Archive Related to the "Tanganyika Letters." Including: Autograph Letter Signed. [Paris]: March 24, [1934]. 3 1/2 pages on two 4to pages on tan paper. Approximately 10 1/2 x 8". Addressed "Dear Mr. Gingritich [sic]:-". Signed "Yrs. Always, EH". Each page with 1 vertical and 1 horizontal crease, some edgeeawr, marginal light chipping, light occasional soiling. Fine. With original mailing envelope in Hemingway's hand, stamped and canceled. This letter from Hemingway, addressed to Esquire Magazine editor Arnold Gingrich (1903-1976), is about the photos Hemingway took while hunting, with explanations, and publication instructions ("... but under no circumstances run this picture with a group of pictures of any single picture of live lions. It would be very bad taste and give people the impression that we photograph lions then shot them..." Hemingway also talks about Gingrich's financial situation: "... I hope to hell your finances are on the wax rather the bloody wane, as I am broke (after fashion)..." stating that he (Hemingway) needs more money to buy a boat. [Also with:]
