HOUDINI (Erik Weisz, 1874 - 1926). Houdini Photograph and Signed Book Shadowbox. Includes a copy of Houdini's Paper Magic (New York, 1922) INSCRIBED AND SIGNED by Houdini "To my friend of spook hunting days & nights Albert J. Gordon, Best wishes, Houdini, May 19/1925," together with a neatly trimmed vintage oval bust portrait of the great magician mounted inside the display floating above the front pastedown of the volume. In a deep shadowbox display box with a rustic lock and key motif framing the contents. 15 x 18 x 3 1/2". Not examined out of frame; border of shadowbox shows significant wear. An unusual and personal Houdini inscription to a fellow debunker of fraudulent spirit mediums, a subject that captured Houdini's personal and professional interest for many years, especially during the last decade of his life.
