[ILLUSTRATED BOOKS]. WYATT, M[atthew] Digby (1820-1877). Specimens of Ornamental Art Workmanship in Gold, Silver, Iron, Brass and Bronze... London: Day & Son, 1852. Folio. 50 chromolithographic plates. 81 pp. Publisher's full light brown cloth, boards elaborately paneled in blind, front board and spine stamped in gilt, yellow coated endleaves.
Condition
Binding heavily worn, soiled, plates and prelminary leaves loose in binding, front gutter facing first blank broken, edges of loose preliminary leaves worn with short tears and chips, text and plates a bit toned, some thumbsoiling, foxing. Fair. FIRST EDITION OF THIS RARE COLLECTION OF ORNAMENTAL CHROMOLITHOGRAPHS. This title was also issued under another title, Metal-Work and its Artistic Design, no established priority between the two.
