Okito (Theo Bamberg). Okito TLS to Victor Barbour. Dated March 23, 1929, Okito writes to one of his best customers, Victor Barbour, from The Flora Variete Theatre in Hamburg. The letter concerns many of the props Okito built for Barbour?s collection, but laments the fact that his time to build such props is ?gone.? Okito also writes about W.J. ?Doc? Nixon, stating, ?I hope that Mr. Nixon is getting along nicely, he ought to, he is a clever fellow and a good showman [sic], but I suppose that good magic is not much appreciated by Uncle Sam, it seems that way. David has a very beautiful show in South America, and is doing exceedingly well, he is a fine hustler.? And later, ?Be very careful with your business dealings with Bartl or Horster, they have a very bad name in Europe and known as two crooks.? On one sheet of Okito?s uncommon ?Mandarin of Magic? letterhead. Old folds from mailing. Boldly signed, ?Theo. Okito.?
