JOHNSON, Lyndon B. (1908-1973) and JOHNSON, Claudia “Lady Bird” (1912-2007). Official White House Photo, Inscribed and Signed on the Mount by Lady Bird, and Signed by Lyndon B. Johnson. [Washington, D. C.: The White House,] “Christmas 1966”. Mounted color photograph of the Johnsons on the balcony of the White House celebrating the marriage of their daughter, Luci Baines (Luci is in her wedding dress, and her groom, Patrick Nugent, is in his formal suit). Inscribed on the mount beneath the photo by Lady Bird: “To Alice and Ed Weisl - on a happy day! - With our dear affection always - Lady Bird and” then signed by Lyndon Johnson, “Lyndon B. Johnson” At the bottom left additionally written by Lady Bird “Christmas 1966”. On verso of photo is inkstamped: “Official Photograph The White House” and “-6ag66c-2706-11”. Sight approximately 9 ¼ x 7 1/8”. Size of mount approximately 14 x 10 ¾”. Mount rubbed with marginal sunning, creasing, photo has a few mild scratches and is lightly toned. Fine. The recipient, Edwin L. Weisl, Sr. (1897-1972), was a close friend and advisor to Lyndon, and a longtime Democratic committee member from New York.
