Illustrated with frontispiece portrait of Lafayette and two portrait plates of prominent American (Washington, Franklin, Green) and French (Marie Antoinette, Louis XVI, Napoleon, Louis XVII) individuals. 455 pp. Contemporary full tree calf, spine gilt. PRESUMED FIRST EDITION THUS.
Condition
Binding heavily worn, soiled, text toned, soiled, foxed, several gutters starting or cracking, a few pages or plates a bit loose, occasional marginal chipping or tears, hinges cracking, binding shaken. Fair. Housed in modern cloth clamshell case.
