HERRMANN, Leon (1867 - 1909). Leon Herrmann Stage Illusion Photograph. New Orleans: Moore Theatre Studio, ca. 1900. Unusual horizontal black-and-white image shows Herrmann posed before two cages suspended from a framework structure. In effect, a convict in a striped uniform vanished from one cage, only to reappear in the other. Cabinet card on photographer's mount, 4 1/4 x 6 1/2". RARE.
