- Lot Description
[LINCOLN, Abraham, 1809-1865, association]. Figural Eagle Campaign Torch. [1864]. Brass figural rounded eagle campaign-torch topper with original bracket and two long wicks. Approximately 13 x 8 ? x 2 ??. Most likely used by the marching club, The War Eagles for the 1864 election. Their name was inspired by a mascot of a Wisconsin regiment, ?Old Abe, the War Eagle.? Some minor rubbing, some solder is visible on a few edges. Excellent.
