MACBRIDE, David (1726-1778). Experimental Essays on Medical and Philosophical Subjects. London: T. Becket and T. Cadell, 1776. 8vo. Folding tables and plates. THIRD EDITION.
Condition
Rebound in full brown cloth with gilt stamped title label to spine, original marbled endpapers retained. Staining to rear text block edges. Tape stain to postscript. Overall good.
- Provenance
The first major work by Scottish medical writer David Macbride, notable for his writing on scurvy; includes a section "On the scurvy; with a Proposal for trying new Methods to prevent or cure the same, at sea," along with a postscript on the use of wort as an antiscorbutic.
